Recruit Media Arts Educators/Supporters

We are serving "all learners of media arts" across the U.S.! We are serving all teachers of media arts! This is across K12 media arts, visual and other arts, CTE, teaching artists, supporting individuals and organizations. We are encouraging them to join us in this effort to advance MAE!

Teaching artists can be found by searching for "out of school arts organizations your area"

K12 and CTE Teachers who teach some sort of media arts - (media, digital arts, tech, computer sci, visual/media, dance, theatre, etc. 

• Contact teachers directly in your local area, if you can (school website). Go to State level SEADAE member, or Local District -  Arts Education Admin. or Instructional Admin, or LD Arts or Instructional Rep - Or School Principal, and have them distribute message/invite to such educators 

• OR, See National Arts Ed Data Project. See when your state is coming onboard. Inquire in your state to find exact timing for completion. Encourage completion! If it is complete:

Click on your state. Click on Course Finder tab. Choose media arts courses. It will list all schools with those courses. Look up school website for contacts. 

If not listed, encourage state to use national SCEDs codes for media arts.

• Example Contact Message to Admin and Teacher(s)

  • “We are forming a media arts teacher collective. Would you be able to help me send a message to any media arts teachers in your area?

  • “ Dear media arts teacher(s), Would you be interested in connecting with other media arts teachers and supporters to form a local-national network? If so, please join at https://www.mediaartsedu.org/  Provide my name as how you found out about us. My contact info is..."

Once members connect. Meet with them, find ways to support and work with them. Eventually, you may want to form a formal group. Let us know about your progress.
